Best place to shop:
Definitely Chapel St, South Yarra. It's a high street that stretches for a few
kilometres and is home to all of the best Australian and international labels
(including Topshop!). You'll also find heaps of little cafes, bars and restaurants
- perfect for celebrity spotting on your shopping break.
Best place to hang out:
St Kilda is a hub around 15 minutes by tram from the CBD. It's got a holiday
vibe as it's on the beach, and you'll find lots of yummy patisseries and gelato
on Acland St along with cool bars that extend onto Fitzroy St. If you're not
keen on a night out - head to the pier where you can spot fairy penguins at
dusk.
Don't miss: Southbank -
an abundance of world-class restaurants with a scenic view of the river and
city skyline. It's also home to Melbourne's 5-star Crown Casino. If gambling
isn't your thing, head to one of the many bars or nightclubs.
If you've got time:
Explore the laneways scattered throughout the CBD. Here you'll find a treasure
trove of uber cool bars, cafes and fashion boutiques.
